Add Rules

Rules are a combination of criteria that must be met in order for your view to appear.

Rules appear in multiple modules within the UI Manager plugin, and you'll find them to the left side of your View configuration.

Rules are cumulative, not exclusive. For example, if you select the administrator role and a specific user, the view will be visible to ALL administrators AND to the selected user, regardless of his/her role. You must select at least one rule, otherwise no one will see this menu view.

Rules also take priority from top to bottom. So, for example, say you have one menu view that has only the administrator role checked. You then create another view that has only the user name "bob" checked. When you log in as an administrator with the user name of "bob, the first menu view will override the second because it appears higher in the rules list.

The rules available to you may change based on the module you're viewing, the type of install you have (single site vs. multisite) or the type of plugins you have installed (like WP Ultimo for example).

These are the types of rules you may encounter:

Roles

Only users with the selected roles will see this menu. By default all roles are selected, which means that everyone will see this menu view.

Users

This rule allows you to apply the view to specific users. By default no user is selected, which means that the view will be seen by all users who meet the rest of the selected rules.

Sites (Multisite Only)

This rule allows you to apply the view to selected sites. By default no site is selected, which means that the view will be seen on all sites by users who meet the rest of the selected rules.

WP Ultimo Plans (Multisite Only)

Note: Must have WP Ultimo plugin installed and activated.

This rule allows you to apply the view to users with the selected plan. By default no plan is selected, which means that the view will only be seen by users who comply with the rest of the selected rules.

Areas (Branding Module Only)

This rule allows you to apply the view to the frontend or backend areas. Selecting backend will apply the view in the administration area. Selecting frontend will apply the view to the customizer and frontend admin toolbar.

Scopes (Branding Module Only)

This rule allows you to apply the view to the network admin, main site or subsites scope. By default all three are selected, which means that the view will be displayed on all scopes.
